BEHIND THE SCENES

The 'Forever' music video shoot.

An exclusive luxury villa, high in the hills overlooking the Great River; the beautiful little bay in Oracabessa; the craggy cliffs along the east coast, the old stone bridge at Good Hope plantation in Trelawny, the bird sanctuary at Rocklands….just some of the locales featured in the recently released music video FOREVER featuring Conkarah, lead lady Jami Spence, produced by Niko Browne of Lifeline Music in association with Darren Scott Productions.

“Forever is a reggae love anthem,” says Conkarah, “ and in scouting out locations we were looking for beautiful romantic spots that were authentic, but off-the-beaten-track. We came across Destiny Villa high in the hills, on the border of Westmoreland and Hanover, when we saw that baby grand piano, with the floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the mountains, we were blown-away – and with the two spectacular infin- ity pools – it was the perfect place to stage the video.

“Darren’s concept for the script was to feature contrasting settings so we had scenes of us in tux and wedding gown, sipping champagne, as well as picnicking roadside on the car bonnet, eating bun & cheese and drinking bag juice.

It was a three-day shoot – we were up at 5:00am to do the morning shoot in the infinity pool to catch the thick early morning mist; then off early to Good Hope where a pair of massive Clydesdale horses were dressed and ready to take us on a romantic carriage ride through the estate; there were several takes of strenuous rowing into the bay in Oracabessa; and we waited patiently for a hummingbird to finally perch on Jami’s finger at the bird sanctuary. But it was great fun, and we all fell in love with Jamaica.
